CAMBRIDGE LANDINGCambridge, Maryland

A proposed extension for the historic Town of Cambridge, Maryland, on the Eastern Shore of Chesapeake Bay, Cambridge Landing was a private-developer led speculative initiative to redevelop under-utilized property on the edge of town, adjacent to a state highway bridge.

The strategy proposed the redevelopment of an area of mostly low-density, suburban style land-uses, into a network of walkable streets, parks and a waterfront promenade, supporting residential, commercial and hospitality uses in an urban form consistent with the historical fabric of Cambridge.

The intent was to more effectively tie Cambridge to the regional market by creating a compelling river frontage facing the primary southbound entrance to the town, a major thoroughfare linking beachside resorts further East with the major metropolitan areas of Baltimore and Washington, DC across the bay to the West, while providing the citizen’s of Cambridge with market-supported goods and services not currently available in the community.
