Dane County, WI
Seth Harry & Associates was hired by the HUD Stustainable Communities grant awardee, Capital Area Regional Planning Commission, along with the Center for Neighborhood Technology and Peloton Research Partners, to explore and illustrate the redevelopment potential of a planned Bus Rapid Transit route at three representative station areas throughout the region. Working from market data and population and jobs projections provided by CNT and Peloton, SHA led a two day design workshop in Madison to illustrate what redevelopment would look like based on the provided projections.
The three sites include a regional mall and two suburban neighborhood stations, all located along major arterials and on the proposed BRT route around the region. The twenty year projections provided by CNT and Peloton are shown as walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods, with higher density clustered around the future BRT stations.
