Naranja, FL
As part of a team of local planners working with Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council and Miami-Dade County, Seth Harry and Associates was the lead urban designer on a series of public community charrettes undertaken in anticipation of the planned expansion of Miami’s existing commuter rail service, south, following the current US-1 alignment.
The rail extension is currently being established with bus rapid transit (BRT), to help establish the market for transit ridership, coordinate with land-use planning intended to provide settlement patterns and rider-sheds more consistent with TOD planning parameters.
In addition to Naranja, the current anticipated terminus of the existing rail extension, Seth Harry and Associates undertook a similar effort for the town of Cutler Ridge, which included the proposed redevelopment of the existing Cutler Ridge Mall, and under performing suburban shopping center, into a compact, walkable, mixed-use TOD.
