Seattle, WA
Seth Harry and Associates, Inc., with local firm KPG, Inc., completed the initial visioning and master-planning design phase for the City of SeaTac, proposed transit-oriented development (TOD), adjacent to Seattle’s SeaTac International Airport.
The project is intended to leverage the value of the recently completed light-rail system connecting the city and airport with downtown Seattle, to allow SeaTac to realize its long-term goal of developing a high-quality urban center to compete in the regional market.
The phased plan and implementation strategy is intended to encourage market-driven redevelopment of low-value surface parking lots and low-density commercial areas into a medium-density, mixed-use TOD, taking full advantage of the market potential of both the transit and the airport. The master plan features a number of major public amenities, including both community and neighborhood parks, several hotels, shopping and dining, and a performing arts center.
