As part of a comprehensive, County-wide facilities and transportation analysis, based upon the principles of Smart Growth, Seth Harry and Associates, Inc., produced a number of site specific feasibility and urban design studies intended to consolidate County functions into more walkable, mixed-use, transit-supportive urban contexts.
This project explored the potential for wrapping and expanding a County-owned parking garage into a mixed-use block, containing a mix of housing types, Class A office space, County functions, and a boutique hotel, while meeting all current and projected parking needs.
Innovative concepts include a “green” roof terrace, restaurant and shared meeting facilities for both the hotel and residents of the building, including the County, as well as stacked “wide/flat” townhouses and live-work unites, with integrated rear-loaded parking accessible directly from the garage.
